Oregon Wave Energy Trust Appoints New Program Director

Matt Sanders has been promoted to Program Director of Oregon Wave Energy Trust (OWET).

As Program Director, Sanders is responsible for the development and execution of OWET’s strategic initiatives designed to reduce barriers to entry and support the responsible development of marine renewable energy projects in Oregon. He is also the designated Project Manager for OWET’s contracted services, and is experienced in industry outreach and data acquisition, financial modeling, and project oversight.

Sanders received his undergraduate degree in Forest Sciences from Colorado State University and worked as a forester for the US Forest Service in Colorado and with a private consulting firm in Oregon for nearly ten years.

He received his Master’s in Business Administration with a focus on Sustainability and Renewable Energy from Portland State University in 2012. During his graduate program, Sanders managed the OWET Commercialization Program, connecting early stage wave energy developers with the resources and strategies to move their technology forward.
