Shipowner Oman Shipping Company SAOC (OSC) has decided to internalize the commercial management of their very large crude carrier (VLCC) fleet which was previously a part of the VL8 pool, managed by maritime services provider Navig8 Group.

Namely, a total of 15 VLCC owned by Oman Shipping Company have been placed in the VL8 shipping pool since 2010.

“Despite the many benefits we have received from our vessel participation in the VL8 pool, we have made the decision to internalize the commercial management of our VLCC fleet to meet our legitimate growth aspirations in every functional area under the OSC brand, Tarik Al Junaidi, Chief Executive Officer of Oman Shipping Company, said.

The company’s fleet includes 33 tankers, 16 of which are OSC-owned VLCCs.

The VL8 pool is one of the largest VLCC tanker pools in the world and one of 16 shipping pools managed by Navig8.
