Palfinger Marine’s Deck Equipment for Kreuz Subsea’s Newbuild

Palfinger Marine has secured a contract for delivery of lifesaving equipment, in addition to an extensive winch package, for Kreuz Subsea’s newbuild vessel of Vard 317 design.

The DP2 class vessel, with a total length of 91.2 meters a beam of 21.5 meters will be used to for diving support and subsea construction duties. The delivery from Vard Søviknes is scheduled in the second quarter of 2017.

Norwegian Deck Machinery (NDM), which was acquired earlier this year by Palfinger Marine, will supply the winch package.

The package includes two combined windlass/mooring winches, two chain stoppers, two capstans, four 60 t mooring winches (four-point mooring system) inclusive bridge mounted remote control system as well as two HPUs.

The lifesaving equipment comprises two totally enclosed life boats for 53 persons and two dedicated life boat davits. Further the contract includes a fast rescue boat with a 170 hp inboard motor and a fast rescue boat davit. All equipment is scheduled for delivery in 2016.
