Patterson Lakes Dredging: Collection of Sediment Samples (Australia)

Collection of Sediment Samples

Mariners are advised of sediment sampling collection activities in the channels of Patterson Lakes.

Works will consist of collection of sediment samples from a moored barge.

The barge will be stationary for periods of approximately 30 minutes before moving to the next sampling point. Samples will be collected from berthing areas adjacent to jetties or pontoons and four locations within the channels.

The barge will be accompanied by a pilot vessel at all times. The pilot vessel will escort other vessels to navigate around the barge whilst in transit and whilst moored at channel locations.

Marine vessels and equipment including an unpowered floating barge will be operating during the day. All floating vessels will be anchored at night in the vicinity of the Patterson Lakes pump station.
