Pertamina expects increase in Indonesia’s gas deficit

Pertamina of Indonesia expects the country’s domestic gas production to be overshot by demand by 1.5 billion cubic feet per day in 2015.

The company told Indonesia’s parliament that this deficit will rise to 4.5 bcf/d by 2025, Reuters reports.

Dwi Soetjipto Pertamina’s CEO said this increase in difference between domestic production and demand is the reason the company is developing gas infrastructure.

Pertamina signed a deal with Bumi Sarana Migas, a Kalla Group unit, to construct a 4mtpa Bojonegara LNG receiving terminal which is scheduled for completion in 2019.
