Peru’s only liquefaction facility at Pampa Melchorita shipped a cargo of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Spain and Mexico each.

According to the data released by the state-owned Perupetro, the 170,200-cbm SCF Mitre departed the terminal on July 21 and set course for Spain.

The second cargo was loaded on July 22, aboard the 136,600-cbm LNG carrier Galea and dispatched to Mexico.

The 4.45 million tonnes per year gas liquefaction plant is located 170 kilometres south of Lima and receives gas via a 408-kilometer pipeline built across the Andes.

With the two latest cargoes, the facility has dispatched 409 vessels in total since it started operations in June 2010.
