Peru’s only liquefaction facility at Pampa Melchorita dispatched two cargoes liquefied natural gas to Spain last week.

According to the data released by the state-owned Perupetro, the first cargo onboard Teekay’s LNG carrier Madrid Spirit with the capacity to transport 135,423 cubic meters of the chilled gas, left the facility on October 17.

The second cargo was dispatched a day later on October 18, onboard the 135,072-cbm LNG carrier Gallina.

In total, the export plant shipped 424 cargoes since it started operations in June 2010.

The 4.45 million tons per year gas liquefaction plant is located 170 kilometers south of Lima and receives gas via a 408-kilometer pipeline built across the Andes.
