Peru’s only liquefaction facility at Pampa Melchorita dispatched another cargo of liquefied natural gas to Spain.

The cargo was loaded on December 3 on board the 136,600-cbm LNG carrier Galea and sent on its way to Spain, data from the state-owned Perupetro reveals.

However, the exact destination of the Galea has not been revealed by Perupetro.

This was the first cargo loaded in December, showing that the recent trend of the Peruvian facility shipping the majority its cargoes to Spain continues. It is the second in succession to head to Spain and eight out of the last ten cargoes loaded at the plant.

With the latest cargo, Peru’s LNG export facility shipped 368 vessels in total, since it started operations in June 2010.

The 4.45 million tons per year gas liquefaction plant is located 170 kilometers south of Lima and receives gas via a 408-kilometer pipeline built across the Andes.
