Peru ships two LNG cargoes to Mexico

Peru’s only liquefaction facility at Pampa Melchorita dispatched its first two cargoes of liquefied natural gas in July to Mexico.

Data from the state-owned Perupetro shows that the first cargo departed on July 1 aboard Shell’s Gemmata LNG carrier with a capacity of 138,104 cbm.

The second cargo was dispatched aboard the 135,072 cbm LNG carrier Gallina on July 4, the data shows.

The destination of the two vessels has not been revealed by Perupetro, however, both will probably deliver the cargoes to the Manzanillo LNG terminal in Mexico’s Colima state.

With the two latest cargos, the 4.45 mtpa LNG export facility shipped 337 vessels in total, since it started operations in June 2010.
