Peru’s natural gas liquefaction and export facility at Pampa Melchorita shipped another cargo to Spain over the weekend.

The cargo was loaded aboard the 138,000-cbm Golar LNG’s carrier Methane Princess on October 9 and dispatched to Spain, although data from the state-owned Perupetro has not confirmed the exact destination of the vessel.

It is the third cargo dispatched from the facility during the month of October and the second cargo in succession to be shipped to Spain.

The data shows that this is the first cargo Golar LNG’s 2003-built liquefied natural gas carrier loaded at the plant.

With the latest cargo, Peru’s LNG export facility shipped 357 vessels in total, since it started operations in June 2010.

The 4.45 million tons per year gas liquefaction plant is located 170 kilometers south of Lima and receives gas via a 408-kilometer pipeline built across the Andes.
