Peterson charters two platform suppliers

Peterson, a logistics provider for the energy sector, has chartered two platform supply vessels on a one-year deal each.

According to data provided by VesselsValue, Peterson has extended – sort of – the Island Endeavour and Dina Merkur contracts in The Netherlands.

The firm one-year contracts may extend to as far as three years due to two one-year extension options for both vessels while the dayrates remained undisclosed.

Both vessels had previously worked for Peterson supporting of the Southern North Sea (SNS) Pool.

Namely, the Island Endeavour had been with Peterson since August 2008 until very recently. The Dina Merkur had been chartered for the first time by the company in April 2015.

The last extension for the Island Endeavour was in June 2015, and it covered a firm charter period throughout January 2017. The Dina Merkur contract was last extended in autumn of 2016.

As far as the vessel specs go, Island Offshore’s PSV is a UT 755 LN design PSV built by Aker Yards Brevik in 2008. It is 76.6 meters long, 16 meters wide and has a deadweight of 3,170 tonnes including a deck space of 715 square meters.

The somewhat older Dina Merkur is a 2006-built PSV of UT 755 LC design. It is as wide as the Island Endeavour but three meters shorter. Its deadweight is slightly larger and stands at around 3,300 tonnes. It was built by the Simek AS yard in Norway.

According to their deadweight, both platform suppliers fall under the category of medium-sized PSVs.
