Petrobras extends DOF anchor handler deal

Norwegian shipping company DOF has been awarded an extension of a contract for one of its anchor handlers working in Brazil.

DOF informed in an Oslo Stock Exchange filing on Friday that the anchor handling tug and supply vessel Skandi Admiral was awarded a 265-day extension by Brazilian oil company Petrobras.

According to DOF, the extension will begin on June 9, 2018, binding the vessel to Petrobras until February 28, 2019.

The initial contract for the vessel was awarded to DOF in late May 2017.

The 1999-built Skandi Admiral is owned by DOF Rederi. During the first quarter of 2017, the vessel was reflagged to the Brazilian flag.

It is a high powered anchor handling vessel designed for field installation operations across a wide range of water depths and environmental conditions.
