Petronet LNG’s profit up 19.8 pct

Petronet LNG, India’s biggest liquefied natural gas importer, posted a net profit of Rs. 1623.90 million for the quarter ended December 31, 2014 as compared to Rs. 1355.50 million for the same period in 2013.

This represents a 19.80% increase compared to the results from the same period in 2014.

The company’s total income has increased from Rs. 94037.30 million for the quarter ended December 31, 2013 to Rs. 112253.00 million for the same quarter in 2014, company revealed in a filing to the stock exchange.

The Company’s Dahej terminal has operated at around 110 % of its nameplate capacity, the company informed. The volume regasified at the Dahej terminal during the third quarter of FY 2014-15 was 140.42 TBTUs.

The Kochi terminal, commissioned last year, however, processed 0.99 TBTUs of LNG serving the Kochi Refinery in the vicinity of the terminal with a capacity utilisation of 1.6 %. The total volume processed, 141.41 TBTUs compares with a volume of 150.47 TBTUs in the previous quarter and 123.49 TBTUs in the corresponding quarter of the last year.

Petronet LNG further informed that work on the expansion of Dahej LNG terminal from 10 MMTPA to 15 MMTPA is going on as per schedule and it is expected that this capacity expansion will be completed by end of the year 2016.
