Keppel Subic Shipyard Starts Construction of 'Floatel Endurance'

On 25th October 2012 strike steel took place in Keppel Subic Shipyard in Philippines. This is the commencement of the construction work of Floatel International’s fourth new-building ordered at Keppel FELS, Singapore. The new building is due for delivery early 2015 and will be named Floatel Endurance.

“I am very pleased to see that the construction of our fourth new building has commenced and that the project is on track for delivery early 2015. On behalf of the Board of Directors I would like to thank the shipyard and our project team for all efforts taken to achieve this important project milestone”, said Mr Peter Jacobsson.

This will be Floatel’s fourth accommodation semi with Keppel after the delivery of Floatel Superior and Floatel Reliance in 2010 and the order of Floatel Victory in 2011, which is scheduled for delivery in 4Q 2013.

With delivery in early 2015, the new semi will be built to the Floatel Superior design, a DSSTM 20NS design developed by GustoMSC and Keppel FELS’ Deepwater Technology Group. Equipped with Dynamic Positioning (DP) 3 capability, it will meet the most stringent rules and regulations for worldwide operations including the Norwegian Sector.
