The company GEOxyz presented its vessels Geosurveyor X and Geo Ocean II in the Port of Oostende. Both ships are deployed for various measuring and supporting tasks at sea.

In the search for new, sustainable and innovative concepts, motors are used with low consumption. This fits completely into the program of iTransfer for which cost efficient crew transfer vessels are an important topic.

The festive program was initiated by Patrick Reyntjens, CEO of GEOxyz and West Flemish Governor, Carl Decaluwé.

Ann Cousée, wife of Carl Decaluwé is godmother of the new measuring vessel Geosurveyor X. After the ceremony, the Geosurveyor X and Geo Ocean II were open for visit for the 120 guests.

Geosurveyor X is a new “Offshore Support vessel” and is used in the Belgian offshore wind farms and for maintenance of measuring poles at sea for the Flemish Government. The vessel has a length of 20.56 meters and a width of 7.5 meters. There is accommodation for 12 passengers and three crew men. Geosurveyor X reaches a maximum speed of 25 knots. The ship was built in Spain.

The Geo Ocean II has a length of 40 meters and a width of 9 meters. On board there is an extensive accommodation for 23 people. “Geo Ocean II” is mainly used for soil testing and dive operations at sea.

Patrick Reyntjens said: “With these two vessels, we can focus more efficiently on the Blue Energy Business and give further support to various offshore works.”
