The seismic support vessel (SSV) Thor Magni is currently on a long term charter with Norwegian seismic player PGS.

The vessel is owned by Faroe Islands-based P/F Thor and was previously christened and delivered in Turkey, this year in February.

The vessel, the first in a series of four for P/F Thor, was built at Besiktas Shipyard in Turkey and it represents the new ST-204 SSV design by Skipsteknisk .

ST-204 SSV has main dimensions of 64.4 x 14.5 x 7.2m (L x B x D), has a carrying capacities of 1100m3 HFO and 450m3 MDO and a deck area of 300m2.

Accommodation is fitted out for 60 persons, enabling also transportation of crew for the seismic mother vessels. Thor Magni is rigged with one 8m FRCs with davit, one 15t davit for work boat, one offshore crane of 12t at 10m, one deck mounted 50t SWL towing hook, and is also designed for Rescue operations with Dacon scoop and Rescue Zones.

Thor Magni is fitted with a diesel electric propulsion system comprising 4 x 900rpm generator sets and twin shaft nozzled propellers, providing a max speed in excess of 14 knots and a bollard pull of 50t. A 650kW pump jet is install in bow.
