PHOTO: Topaz Newbuild on Shakedown Cruise

Dubai-based Topaz Energy and Marine has shared a photo update of its newbuild multipurpose ROV support vessel (MPSV), Topaz Tiamat, while on sea trials in Norway.

Developed for crane operations and light subsea construction with intervention duties, the vessel is of VARD 3 08 design, measuring a total length of 98.1 meters with a beam of 20 meters.

The DP2 class vessel is fitted with 120-tonne active heave compensated offshore crane with the capability of reaching working depths of 3,000 meters. The Topaz Tiamat has a 1,000m² deck and can accommodate up to 82 persons.

Designed by Vard Design in Ålesund, Norway, and with hull constructed at Vard Tulcea in Romania, Topaz Tiamat is scheduled for delivery from Vard Brattvaag in Norway in 3Q 2017. Delivery of its sister vessel Topaz Tangaroa is planned for 4Q 2017.
