The image above shows the accommodation block being positioned and aligned on BW’s newbuild LNG FSRU at Samsung Heavy Industries of South Korea, one of world’s largest shipbuilders.

When delivered in April 2015, BW’s first FSRU, with a storage capacity of 170,000 cbm, will be amongst the largest FSRUs in operation.

This FSRU is also designed to trade as a conventional LNG carrier with a maximum sea going speed of 19.5 knots.

The accommodation block is one of the most important areas of the FSRU as it houses not only the living and dining quarters of the crew but also various control stations for cargo, bridge and engine operations.
