Poland - Remontowa Christens PSV Lewek Aquarius

On May 31st 2012 the Christening Ceremony of the second multi-purpose platform supply vessel of MMC 887 CP design, built for the one of the biggest Owners in Singapore, took place at Remontowa Shipbuilding yard in Poland. The first vessel of the same type left the Shipyard two months ago. After the traditional breaking of the champagne bottle, the vessel was named “Lewek Aquarius”.

Both of these multi-purpose platform supply vessels, with the Anchore Handling capability, were built according to MMC Ship Design & Marine Consulting Ltd design.

Equipped with fully redundant IMO Class 2 dynamic positioning system, the vessels satisfy general demands of the offshore industry like carriage of liquid mud, dry cargoes, fuel, drill water and fresh water in bulk and various deck cargo.

Thanks to structural stainless steel tanks equipped with hydraulic driven submerged pumps, fixed deck foam system and nitrogen as inert gas installation – methanol and other dangerous goods can be carried in safe manner.

Another important function of Lewek Aquarius is performing standby rescue operations – which combined with installed onboard FiFi Class 1 system and oil recovery capability make the vessel suitable for any emergency situation onsite the offshore installations.
