Poland: Treasury Minister Visits Swinoujscie LNG Terminal Site

Minister of Treasury, Mikołaj Budzanowski, on Monday, paid a visit to the construction site of the LNG Terminal in Świnoujście, the key investment for Poland’s energy security.

This was the first Minister’ visit at the site since the successful operation – air-raising of roofs on both LNG storage tanks. The purpose of Mr. Budzanowski’s visit was to acknowledge and monitor the progress of construction works performed by the international Consortium – the Contractor erecting the LNG Terminal.

Currently performed works include gusset plates’ welding and assembly of reinforcement on roofs of both tanks. The domes are planned to be covered with concrete layer before the end of this year. In addition, the works on piperacks and compressor buildings are currently underway, whilst the process of underground network installation in the so-called process area (sewer pipes and fire water mains) is carried out in parallel.

In the offshore part of the investment the currently performed works include preparatory works for the construction of a flyover on the jetty and prefabrication of steel piperack structures on the berth, as well as the demarcation and signage of the assembly area.

In addition, the works on the construction of two platforms (a technological one and LNG unloading one), being a part of the investment under Szczecin – Świnoujście Seaports Authority, are nearing completion, further to be taken over by Polskie LNG SA and entrusted to the Consortium, opening a new front of marine works.
