Poland Undersecretary of State Visits Lotos Group

Rafał Baniak, Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Treasury, participated in the away meeting of the Treasury Commission at the Lotos Group on July 17th. The visit to Pomerania was, above all, an opportunity to review the situation of the shipbuilding industry. Deputy Minister Baniak visited the Crist Shipyard, Gdynia Shiprepair Yard “Nauta” and Gdańsk Shiprepair Yard.

The meeting of the Parliamentary Treasury Committee in Gdańsk concerned the implementation status of the Lotos Group investment programme, as well as the Group future plans. The meeting with the Committee members was attended by the management board and senior officers of the company. The Lotos Group is one of the largest companies in the country. The Treasury holds there over 53 per cent.

Poland: Undersecretary of State Visits Lotos Group After the Committee meeting, Deputy Minister Rafał Baniak, along with a delegation from the Ministry of Treasury, visited the Crist Shipyard in Gdańsk. It was the first of the Pomeranian shipyards visited by the Ministry of Treasury representatives. Next came Gdańsk Shiprepair Yard and Gdynia Shiprepair Yard “Nauta”. In each of the shipyards, Deputy Minister Baniak participated in meetings with the management boards discussing the future of the shipbuilding industry in Poland.

During his visits to the shipyards, Undersecretary of State Rafał Baniak was assured of the potential of the Polish shipbuilding industry, which already today successfully competes in global markets through participation in innovative and high profile projects. An example is the vessel Vidar, one of the world’s most advanced units for the installation of wind farms at sea, being built in the Crist Shipyard.
