Portugal awaits Qatari LNG cargo

REN’s Sines LNG terminal located on Portugal’s Atlantic coast is scheduled to receive a cargo of the chilled fuel from Qatar next week. 

The cargo is being transported by the Fuwairit LNG tanker, with a capacity of 138,262-cbm carrier.

According to AIS data provided by the vessel tracking website, MarineTraffic, the vessel departed the Qatari Ras Laffan LNG complex on February 14.

Shipping data issued by the Port of Sines, shows that the LNG carrier is scheduled to unload at the Sines terminal on March 10.

Portugal’s only LNG import facility in Sines port has a nominal sendout capacity of 600,000 cubic meters per hour (5.26 bcm per year), with a peak capacity of 900,000 cubic meters per hour.

Portugal mostly imports LNG from Nigeria, Algeria and Qatar.
