Piraeus Port Authority (PPA) informed that its new floating dock for ships with carrying capacity of 80,000 tons is expected to begin operations in November.

The new floating dock for vessels measuring 240 meters in length and 35 meters in width supplements the existing infrastructure which aims to attract more ships to the Perama Ship Repair Zone, according to PPA.

Furthermore, the extensive repair of the Perama floating dock Piraeus I was completed on June 22.

“Upon its completion, all four existing docks are in full operation after the extensive maintenance works and all relevant permissions and certifications acquired by the responsible organization Hellenic Register of Shipping,” PPA said.

Currently, PPA has four docks – Piraeus I, Piraeus II, one large dry dock and one small dry dock in Akti Vasiliadi.
