Prometheus signs LNG deal with Massachusetts Institution

Project & Tenders

As temperatures plunge across the US and the hearty residents of the Northeast weather another polar vortex filled winter, Prometheus Energy Group said it is helping energy users fight back with an unlikely solution.

Similar to fighting fire with fire, they are battling the bitterly cold weather with an even colder cryogenic fuel; liquefied natural gas. Prometheus Energy is now engaged in multiple local LNG supply agreements, including the turnkey LNG service signed with Massachusetts Institution, the company said in a statement.

At this particular site, LNG is used to fuel numerous steam boilers and a cogeneration facility. This turnkey LNG service includes a Prometheus Energy designed onsite LNG storage and regasification unit, onsite LNG inventory management and transportation and supply of LNG.

With the recent passage of “6 NYCRR Part 570 – Regulation of Liquefied Natural Gas Facilities,” New York state, as of February 26, 2015, will allow its commercial, industrial and institutional energy users to tap into the economic and environmental upside that LNG can immediately deliver.
