PSA notes improvements in Hammerfest LNG audit

The Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) has carried out an audit from 24 to 26 June at Statoil’s Hammerfest LNG terminal focused on the disciplines of technical and operational safety.

The purpose of an audit of technical and operational safety is to investigate whether selected barriers and their performance requirements comply with requirements set out in regulations, standards and governing documents, PSA said in a statement.

The audit was conducted as planned, was well organised and both presentations and interviews evinced a high level of openness.

PSA identified three improvement points during the audit related to the replacement of pressure relief valves, the process for procuring pressure relief valves, and barrier strategy and performance requirements, it added.
