PTTEP extends academic cooperation with Chulalongkorn University

Thailand’s PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited (PTTEP), and Chulalongkorn University (CU), jointly signed the Fourth Amendment Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to extend the academic cooperation until February, 2016.

PTTEP will provide financial support to the research studies related to the field of petroleum engineering, petroleum geology and petroleum geophysics with the amount of 24 million bahts ($740 000).

Furthermore, the company also allocates scholarships to both Thai and international students in the Master of Petroleum Engineering (International Program) with the amount of 614,000 bahts and 1,130,300 baht each, respectively.

PTTEP has supported the project since 2004, which has successfully produced 5 graduated scholars from countries in which the company operates, namely, Mozambique, Bangladesh and Myanmar. In addition, the project also produced various research publications valuable to the exploration and production (E&P) industry in topics such as Strategies for Hydraulic Fracturing in Naturally Fractured Shale Gas Reservoir, which is the technology specific to the unconventional E&P business.
