Ranger Offshore Obtains DNV Cetifications

Ranger Offshore, Inc. (Ranger), a Houston, Texas based provider of offshore construction services,  has obtained ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 and ISO/TS 29001 certifications by Det Norske Veritas (DNV). These DNV certifications are recognized as the global benchmark for providing assurance about the ability to satisfy quality requirements and to enhance customer satisfaction.

Ranger’s CEO Bill Lam commented, “The entire team at Ranger has worked diligently since August of 2011 to achieve these significant accreditations. Attaining these four certifications demonstrates Ranger’s commitment to continuously refine operations and maximize the quality of services and solutions delivered to our clients, while improving the protection of personnel and the environment. We are exceptionally proud that Ranger is the only sub-sea marine construction services company worldwide certified by DNV to the new ISO/TS 29001 standard.”

Ranger was acquired by Dallas-based private equity firm SunTx Capital Partners (SunTx) in June 2010. Ned Fleming, Managing Partner of SunTx echoed the sentiments of Mr. Lam adding, “We are very pleased with Ranger’s achievement in processes and systems. We are excited by the company’s international expansion into Mexico, and are impressed with the inroads Bill and his team have made with other clients as a result of building their resume. As a firm we remain fully committed to this investment, both from an operational as well as a financial standpoint.”

Each of the certifications attests to the implementation and adherence to various processes and management systems. The ISO 9001:2008 standard addresses the effective use of a Quality Management System (QMS), while the ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007 standards relate to the processes, activities, and procedures of Environmental Management System (EMS) and Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S), respectively. These management systems provide an infrastructure to facilitate improvements in processes and increases the efficiency of business operations and enhanced customer satisfaction. The ISO/TS 29001:2010 standard addresses QMS requirements to meet the specific needs of the oil and gas industries worldwide, as well as government and regulatory agencies. These certifications and Ranger’s commitment to deliver the highest quality of service will continue to open new avenues for strategic expansion into multiple international theaters.
