 RasGas of Qatar Expects Benefits from WGC 2012 Participation

RasGas of Qatar expects to reap huge positive benefits from its participation in the just concluded 25th World Gas Conference, which was organised in the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur from 4-8 June.

RasGas, which currently supplies Liquefied Natural Gas to various customers in 16 countries across the globe, sees huge growth in demand for LNG in Asia in the immediate future.

As a world-class energy supplier striving for excellence, through its participation in this mammoth event, RasGas once again demonstrated its dedication to industry best practices.

RasGas Managing Director, Hamad Rashid Al Mohannadi delivered the keynote address in the event, which is considered to be the Olympics of the Gas Industry. Through his presentation titled, “The Next Phase for Global LNG”, RasGas MD provided insights into LNG supply and demand region by region. The conference was attended by top executives from key departments of RasGas. Senior RasGas Engineer Amr Gad delivered a Technical Poster Presentation in the WGC 2012 providing an overview on RasGas’ Dry Low NOx (DLN) Combustion System Technology that is used to reduce gas turbine emission levels. RasGas is a pioneer in Gas Turbine DLN Conversion in Qatar. The technology used by RasGas is in compliance with Qatar’s Ministry of Environment regulations.

The triennial event, brought together over 5,000 industry professionals as well as 10,000 trade visitors. This is RasGas’ fourth consecutive participation in the industry event for which it was also a diamond sponsor.
