Robertson Group Lands New Burbo Bank O&M Base Contract

DONG Energy has awarded Robertson Facilities Management a one-year contract for hard and soft facilities management services at the new O&M base in King’s Wharf, Birkenhead, which will serve both Burbo Bank and Burbo Bank Extension offshore wind farms.

This contract follows DONG Energy’s deal with Robertson North West, also part of the UK-based Robertson Group, who built the O&M base where Robertson Facilities Management will be carrying out their work.

Robertson Facilities Management will be in charge of planned and reactive maintenance, property and building maintenance, minor works and project management, window cleaning and a number of other specialist services.

Lee Rollason, Head of Burbo Bank Operations said: “We are extremely pleased with the work Robertson has delivered so far; having the new facility has had a really positive impact on our work and day-today activities. I am therefore happy to see we can continue to build on our relationship through facilities management and look forward to welcoming the team here.”

The operation base, which was completed in August, will be used for the storage of materials and equipment required for the ongoing maintenance of the wind farms, as well as office facilities and parking for staff.

Both offshore wind farms are fully operational. The 90MW Burbo Bank is up and running since 2007, while the 258MW Burbo Bank Extension was officially open in April 2017.
