Russia: Gazprom, Moller-Maersk Discuss Cooperation Prospects

 

The Gazprom headquarters hosted a working meeting between Alexander Ananenkov (image), Deputy Chairman of the Company’s Management Committee and Klaus Rud Sejling, Vice President of A. P. Moller-Maersk Group.

The parties addressed the opportunities for cooperation deepening to ensure year-round well drilling in northern offshore fields.

During the negotiations it was suggested forming a bilateral group of experts to develop cooperation proposals in this regard.

Moreover, it was stressed that Russian shipbuilding companies had to be involved in developing the partnership on special equipment and machinery production to enable year-round well construction in the Arctic.

A. P. Moller-Maersk Group (Denmark) was founded in 1904. At present, the company operates in 130 countries and employs some 115 thousand people.

Among the core businesses of A. P. Moller-Maersk Group are marine freight, oil and gas exploration, production and transportation.

A. P. Moller-Maersk Group owns 17 oil tankers and 8 LNG carriers. Besides, the company possesses 4 production platforms and 28 floating drilling rigs.
