Sakhalin Energy reaches 900 LNG cargoes milestone

Sakhalin Energy informed that earlier this year the company offloaded the 900th cargo of LNG.

For nearly six years, the Prigorodnoye production complex has been operating with a very high level of safety, delivering hydrocarbons to customers of the Asia-Pacific Region, the company said in a statement.

The milestone LNG cargo of 145 thousand cubic metres, intended for the Japanese company Kushyu Electric Power, was offloaded on board the Grand Aniva LNG carrier, the statement said.

Sakhalin Energy, a joint venture between Gazprom, Shell, Mitsui, and Mitsubishi, already delivered 55 cargoes to Kushyu Electric Power since the LNG plant was put into operation.

Liquefied natural gas from the Sakhalin LNG facility, Russia’s first export plant, has been delivered to customers in Japan, Korea, China, Taiwan, Thailand, India and Kuwait.

According to Peter Norman, LNG/OET/TLU/ Manager, the year 2014 was quite difficult in terms of production reliability, however, the company fulfilled the annual plan of LNG supplies.
