SHI said in a regulatory filing that it has won an order for two LNG carriers from an undisclosed North American shipowner.

The contract is worth KRW 412.3 billion (USD 367 million), the company said.

The newbuildings are slated for delivery to their owner by the end of 2020.

The order is being announced just three days after Samsung was contracted by Denmark’s Celsius Tankers to build two 180,000 cbm LNG carriers.

Under the contract, Celsius Tankers has options for two more ships worth USD 187 million apiece.

The LNG carriers will be equipped with Mark-Ⅲ Flex type containment system with re-liquefaction to lower BOR.
