VIDEO: New Cruise Ship AIDAstella Undocked, Germany

The 71.300 GT cruise ship AIDAstella, MEYER WERFT latest newbuild, left the building dock I on Friday January 25th 2013. Later that day the ship was shifted into the Shipard’s harbor and berthed at the outfitting quay. In the following days at the outfitting pier the last working activities, tests and trials will be carried out.

Ferus Smit GmbH in Leer, Germany launched, on Jan. 25th, general cargo vessel m.v. Reestborg for the Royal Wagenborg. The Reestborg is by far the largest ship ever built at Ferus Smit.

Norway: Next Generation IMR Vessel Seven Viking Named

The cutting edge Seven Viking vessel, designed for operations in the harshest environments is being unveiled and named at a ceremony in Stavanger, Norway, by Subsea 7, Eidesvik Offshore and Ulstein today, 30 January 2013.

India: L&T’s New State-of-the-Art Kattupalli Shipyard Inaugurated

At Kattupalli (near Ennore, 40 km from Chennai) Honorable Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa yesterday, Jan. 30, inaugurated new world-class the Rs 3,375 crore Kattupalli shipyard-cum-minor port. This state-of-the-art facility is a joint venture of Tidco (Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation) and L&T namely, L&T Shipbuilding Limited.
