Scottish firm to deliver 60-ton subsea structure to Norwegian oil & gas operator

Scotland-headquartered engineering and design company T12 Engineering is set to design and manufacture a 60-ton subsea modular structure for a Norwegian oil & gas operator.

Under the contract defined as major, T12 Engineering will project manage the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) of the structure, scheduled for installation in the third quarter of the year, and will deliver a comprehensive documentation and smart data package, ensuring full traceability across the design, testing and fabrication processes.

According to the company, a defining feature of the subsea system, which has a 59m2 footprint, is that it can fit within standard shipping containers, thus enabling efficient delivery by land or sea from the fabrication base in the North East of England. Additionally, this modular approach allows the system to be repurposed for future subsea applications.

Although the client’s name cannot be disclosed due to a confidentiality agreement, T12 Engineering stated that it had supported the operator on other smaller projects over the past 18 months, with this award marking its first major contract with the client.

The contract also follows the opening of the company’s Oslo office last year.
