Scottish Government: Marine Renewables Consultation in Progress

Scottish Government: Marine Renewables Consultation in Progress

The Scottish Government is currently carrying out public consultation in relation to Marine Planning, Marine Protected Areas and the future of Marine Renewables. This consultation will close on 13th November 2013.

Of particular interest to Dumfries and Galloway is the inclusion of proposals for two offshore wind farms, at Luce Bay and for the Robin Rigg extension (the Robin Rigg extension was removed from previous plans but has now been included again). There are also proposals for a tidal energy scheme at Luce Bay. These schemes are included within the “Sectoral Marine Plans for Offshore Wind, Wave and Tidal Energy in Scottish Waters Consultation Draft” available to view on the Scottish Government website.
