Second Turbine Up at Nissum Bredning

The second Siemens 7MW wind turbine was installed at the Nissum Bredning site on 17 December, with all the transition pieces now placed on their corresponding gravity jacket foundations.

The first two turbines are now installed at positions M2 and M4 and, after the Matador 3 crane vessel installed the transition pieces at positions M1 and M3, local firm Østermark Grouting started grouting the foundations at those positions to prepare them for wind turbine installation.

The project team hopes for weather conditions to be good enough these days to have all four wind turbines installed before Christmas, according to an update on project’s social media pages.

Once all four turbines are installed at the site, they will be grid-connected using Siemens new cable and turbine concept with a 66kV voltage. Currently, Danish company JD Contractor is laying the cables.

The turbine components are being transported out of the Port of Esbjerg and are being installed onto their foundations directly from the Osprey Valliant barge.
