Sembcorp Marine Chairman steps down

Goh Geok Ling will step down and retire as non-executive Chairman and Director of Singapore’s rig offshore builder Sembcorp Marine at the Annual General Meeting on 22 April 2014.

Appointed Chairman and Director since 14 February 2006, Goh is also the Chairman of the Executive Committee and Executive Resource & Compensation Committee and a member of the Nominating Committee.

 Wong Weng Sun, President & CEO of Sembcorp Marine, said “Mr Goh’s contributions to the Sembcorp Marine Group are immeasurable.  We have benefitted from his wise and judicious leadership in steering the Group as Chairman of the Board as well as Chairman of our key subsidiaries of Jurong Shipyard, Sembawang Shipyard and SMOE.”

 

Tan Sri Mohd Hassan Marican, currently Deputy Chairman of Sembcorp Marine, will succeed  Goh as Chairman of the Board.  He will also assume Goh’s role as the Chairman of both the Executive Committee and Executive Resource & Compensation Committee as well as a member of the Nominating Committee on 22 April 2014.
