Seminar on Safety at Work Coming Up in Essen

The management of occupational health and safety of employees and environmental protection will be the focus of the seminar called “Overall Safety at Work for Offshore Wind Energy”, which will be held on March 19-20, 2014 in Essen.

Occupational health and safety laws, regulations and obligations and environmental protection in the field of offshore wind energy are complex and differ considerably from wind energy projects on land.

Specifically, workers who carry out their activities at sea are exposed to hazards that must be considered in the planning, design and organization of offshore wind energy projects. The safety of employees is always in the first place.

At this specialized seminar, the participants will get a comprehensive overview of occupational health and safety systems in various sectors and will learn more about labor laws and regulations that are being applied and implemented in the structuring of health and safety systems in daily work. Various topics will be covered at the seminar, including sharing of experience from the offshore wind energy industry and especially wind farm construction.

The seminar is organized by the House of Technology and the ForWind Academy.
