Shelf Drilling chooses new chairman

Offshore driller Shelf Drilling has elected a new chairman of the company, effective immediately.

Shelf Drilling said on Wednesday that the current board member Ernie Danner was selected as the new chairman.

The company added that Danner stepped down as chairman of the audit committee while existing board member David Williams was appointed as the new audit committee chairman.

David Mullen, the company’s CEO, said: “I am very pleased with the appointment of Ernie Danner as the chairman of the board. Ernie brings extensive experience as a leader in the oil and gas industry and has brought tremendous value to the company during his five-year tenure on the board.

“David Williams has a wealth of experience on boards and at senior levels in different industries which will position him well in his new role as chairman of the audit committee.”

Danner joined the company’s board of directors in October 2013 and had served as an operating partner of SCF Partners, a private equity firm focused on oil service investments, which he joined in October 2012.

He served as president and CEO of Exterran Holdings from July 2009 to October 2011 and as a member of its board of directors from 1998 to October 2011. Since March 2017, Danner has served as chairman of the board of directors of Nine Energy Service, a company providing completion and production services to oil and gas producers in North America.

David Williams joined the board of directors in August 2017. He has served as the executive chairman of Shepherd Group since 2014, the chairman of Ramco since 2013 and the non-executive chairman of Tharsus since 2012.

Previously, Williams was the chairman of Frog Capital for 13 years and the interim CEO and director of Logstor Holdings for two years. He was also the chairman, then chief executive, of Serimax Holdings from June 2004 to June 2006 and June 2006 to October 2011, respectively.
