Shell to use subsea well on Draugen field (Norway)

A/S Norske Shell (Shell) is the operator of the Draugen field, located in block 6407/12 in the Norwegian Sea. Production at Draugen began in 1992 and the field has been developed using a fixed, integrated concrete facility.

As a measure to increase oil recovery from the field, 2013 saw the start of the drilling of four subsea wells, which will be tied back to the Draugen facility. G1 is one of these wells which is now being commissioned.

Shell has received the PSA’s consent to use the well and associated subsea pump and other related equipment on the seabed.
