Siemens' Tronic Creates New Job Openings (UK)

Siemens has announced that Tronic, a Siemens subsea business based in Ulverston will create 70 new roles at its Subsea Excellence Centre in Cumbria. This represents the biggest intake of employees and apprentices ever for the business.

Tronic, a Siemens subsea business is recognised as a world leader in its field. The business has been providing subsea connectors for global oil and gas projects for over 30 years. Acquired by Siemens in March this year, Tronic will play a crucial part in the development of technology that Siemens is currently developing for use in water depths of up to 3,000 metres. The roles, which support Tronic’s growth plans will be based out of the Ulverston facility, which incorporates a factory and office complex. The new roles will be in engineering, project management, production and quality management. Tronic is seeking to fill all the positions over the next three months with further vacancies due to be announced throughout the summer. Tronic is also creating 7 apprenticeships positions which will commence in September 2012.

Tronic has a full order book and with these new additions, employee numbers will reach an all time high. The remainder of 2012 also looks set to be a promising year for the subsea business. Mike Henry, business manager at Tronic commented: “The acquisition of Tronic by Siemens has created exciting prospects for the development of both new and existing products. To support future development we are making significant investments in our technical capabilities and capacity. This new phase in the expansion of the Tronic business offers excellent opportunities to be part of a technical team that is working at the forefront of subsea technologies.”
