Singapore LNG: Third Tank Completed

Singapore LNG Corporation (SLNG), which is building the country’s first LNG terminal, said in a project update that the third LNG tank achieved mechanical completion at the end of November 2013 and was ready for commercial operation by end January 2014.

The secondary berth project was also progressing according to plan, with mechanical completion being achieved on schedule in January 2014, SLNG said.

The fourth open rack vaporiser and two high pressure (HP) booster pumps were also completed and brought into service.

The gas engine generator (GEG) was also almost completed with mechanical completion being granted end January 2014, SLNG added.

Singapore’s first LNG terminal started commercial operations in May 2013 with two LNG storage tanks and an initial regasification capacity of 3.5 Mtpa.

A third tank and additional regasification facilities were subsequently added to bring the throughput capacity of the terminal to 6 Mtpa.
