This is the sixth out of a total of 15 refloating sponsons that will be attached to the starboard side of the wreck.  In addition, Barge Micourier2 is at the site carrying sponsons S6 and S5 on board, pending installation of S6 which is about to ensue.

Once the installation of all sponsons is completed, a pneumatic system will be used to empty the water gradually from the caissons on both sides of the wreck, giving the sufficient shove to push it upwards. On completion of the emptying process, a section of about 18 m will remain submerged, according to the project description.

The final removal of the wreck from the site is expected to take place this summer.
