SKF Demonstrates Cost-Effective Solutions at Posidonia

SKF, a leading global supplier of bearings, seals, mechatronics, lubrication systems, and technical services, today, at Posidonia 2014, took the opportunity to present to its customers and visitors new ways of  improving sustainability, safety and efficiency in the marine industry.

Among the solutions on show there was a new innovation from SKF Blohm + Voss Industries (SKF Group acquired Blohm + Voss Industries in 2013) called TURBULO BlueMon, an environmental monitoring system for ocean going vessels supporting a visualized environmental mapping of the ship’s emissions.

During the presentation, the company officals explained how to use this system and also the supporting software tools in order to comply with regulations set by authorities and classification societies.

Also, on the showcase were SKF’s coupling solutions and products like SKF Vibracon, the universal, adjustable steel chock that simplifies shaft alignment and machine installation.

SKF will hold one more seminar on Thursday 5th of June covering topics such as how to get condition monitoring right during the new building phase.
