Smit Lamnalco scores Coral FLNG marine services job

Dutch dredging company Boskalis said that Smit Lamnalco, a 50 percent associated company, has won a deal to provide marine services for the Coral FLNG project in Mozambique. 

Smit Lamnalco has been awarded a deal with a 10-year term with additional extension options, Boskalis said in a statement.

This marks the first terminal services contract award for the Mozambique offshore LNG developments.

The contract value for Smit Lamnalco amounts to approximately $200 million and services will commence early 2022.

For the delivery of its services, Smit Lamnalco will deploy three new 95-ton bollard pull tugs to provide escort, berthing and unberthing services to LNG carriers at the FLNG facility.

A new offshore support vessel will be utilized to provide logistical and marine services support, the statement reads.

Coral FLNG is a consortium of ENI, ExxonMobil, CNPC, Kogas, Galp Energia and ENH.

The FLNG terminal is located approximately 80 kilometers offshore Palma Bay and operates in a water depth of 2,000 meters.
