SMT Scotland’s ICATS Course Provider

Stream Marine Training has been appointed as the Industrial Coatings Applicator Training Scheme (ICATS) training provider for Scotland, offering 5 day ICATS training courses from its new head office and training site based at Glasgow International Airport.

SMT Scotland's ICATS Course ProviderStream Marine Training, which was formed in January 2014, is the first to offer this course to the offshore industry, and is starting bookings for 5 day courses at its new training offices and facilities.

The company practices delegate welfare and quality training. A designated member of its team can attend to any queries and assist trainees when required throughout their course.

Stream Marine Training is a Scottish Enterprise account managed business, working closely with other individuals and businesses to look at grants and funding options toward the costs of the ICATS training courses.

ICATS was produced by Correx Ltd in conjunction with the Highways Agency and Network Rail as a response to the increased demands of industry.

ICATS is a comprehensive structured training scheme for the registration, training and certification of industrial surface preparation and coating operatives.

The scheme has a mandatory basic unit “Industrial Coatings Applicator” that comprises of 6 modules – Health and Safety, Site Access, Plant and Equipment, Surface Preparation, Paint Types & Application and Quality Control.

Registered ICATS companies and operatives are now specified for many major projects and are mandated by major structure owners throughout the UK and further afield.
