The first four out of 40 transition pieces left the company’s yard in Hoboken, Belgium, towards Vlissingen, the Netherlands, last week.

In Vlissingen, the units will be loaded for their voyage to Taiwan.

The Yunlin offshore wind farm will feature 80 Siemens Gamesa 8 MW turbines installed some 8km offshore and scheduled to come online in 2021.

The 640 MW project is 73% owned by wpd and 27% owned by a Sojitz Corp-led consortium which includes Chugoku Electric Power, Chudenko Corporation, Shikoku Electric Power, and JXTG Nippon Oil & Energy Corporation.
