Snam, Fluxys G Agree to Develop Gas Infrastructure Business in Europe

Snam S.p.A. and Fluxys G S.A. agreed to evaluate future joint strategies aimed at pursuing potential development opportunities in the gas sector in Europe, including transport, storage and LNG activities, through projects enhancing the flexibility and security of supply in the current European infrastructures.

These projects include, among others, reverse flow initiatives, in line with the recommendations and provisions of the third legislative package for an integrated European gas market adopted by the European Parliament and the Council. These initiatives aim to promote cross-border flows and to link the gas trading places in the Northwest and South of Europe.

Snam is listed on the Milan Stock Exchange and is one of the major European integrated groups in the gas infrastructures business, active in the transmission and dispatching of natural gas, LNG regasification, storage and distribution of natural gas.

Fluxys G, through its subsidiary Fluxys S.A., builds and operates infrastructure for natural gas transmission, natural gas storage and terminalling of liquefied natural gas in Belgium. To foster the integration of the North-Western European natural gas market, Fluxys G develops in other European countries a set of stakes in and industrial partnerships with companies active in the business of natural gas transmission and storage, terminalling of liquefied natural gas and spot market facilitation.
