Solstad nets AHTS extension from Statoil

Normand FerkingNorwegian oil company Statoil has declared the option with its compatriot shipping company Solstad Offshore to extend the contract for the anchor handling tug and supply (AHTS) vessel Normand Ferking. 

Solstad Offshore said on Monday in its Oslo Stock Exchange filing that the oil company extended the contract for the Normand Ferking with one year from September 2016.

The shipowner said this is the first out of a total of three yearly options and added that the commercial terms are confidential between the parties.

The AHTS has been working with Statoil since its delivery from the shipyard in 2007. The vessel’s current three-year contract was signed in February 2013.

The Normand Ferking is an AHTS vessel of the VS 490 design. The vessel has LOA of 89.35m, breadth mld of 22 m, and it is able to accommodate 32 persons.
