Spotted: Santos Express Joins Hapag-Lloyd’s Fleet

In today’s spotted, we bring you an image of Santos Express, a Neopanamax containership which was recently delivered to German shipping company Hapag-Lloyd from South Korean Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries shipyard. 

The 10,500 TEU boxship will soon be ready to ship cargo between Europe and South America, Hapag-Lloyd said.

With a gross tonnage of 116,000 tons, the newbuilding features a length of 333 meters and a width of 48 meters.

Santos Express, which flies the flag of Germany, has a market value of USD 80.8 million, according to data provided by VesselsValue.

As of December 31, 2016, Hapag-Lloyd’s fleet comprised a total of 166 containerships with a total capacity of 1 million TEU.
